ARCHITECTURE BY MARK LEE

Born, raised and educated in Huddersfield, Mark has over 25 years of architectural experience.

His passion lies in residential architecture and he has developed a reputation for creating well considered, inspiring homes for private clients.

His experience encompasses both new-build and working with existing buildings,

and his own home, The Roundhouse - a former water storage tank, has been well

publicised locally and nationally.

Mark believes that locally sourced, natural materials are the key to creating sustainable

architecture and Huddersfield is well-placed in this respect. He favours a low-tech approach to sustainability focusing on natural light and ventilation. His buildings are carefully choreographed to draw natural light into the heart of their spaces.

Mark is a partner at One 17 Design, based at Armitage Bridge. Whilst both his and the practice’s experience is focused on ‘one-off’ commissions for private clients, in recent years they have gained experience in residential development. Projects vary in scale from the conversion and extension of existing agricultural buildings to form two contemporary family homes, to the gated

development of 13 bespoke, luxury homes at Delamere Gardens, Fixby.
